During this time, a rare phenomenon occurred: the organic material of the wood underwent a complete transformation into silicates (quartz). This process was facilitated by the penetration of ash, dissolved in water, mixed with chemical components that seeped into the buried trunks. Thus, the wood metamorphosed into stone, creating what we now cherish as petrified wood.

There are only three significant deposits of petrified wood known globally: one in Arizona, USA, and two in Indonesia—within the Mount Halimun Salak National Park and the province of Banten. The density of petrified wood is exceptionally high, at 2.5 tonnes per cubic meter, and this throne weighs an impressive 700 kilograms.
